The Angels on Track Foundation to testify before the U.S. House
of Representatives, Transportation and Infrastructure
Committee
The
Angels on Track Foundation, an Ohio based non-profit railroad
safety foundation, has been invited to Washington, D.C. to
testify before the U.S. House of Representatives, Transportation
and Infrastructure Committee, Railroad Sub-Committee on Thursday,
July 21, 2005, 10:00a.m., at the Rayburn Office Building.
The topic is railroad safety.
Those scheduled to testify will include representatives from
the Federal Railroad Administration, National Transportation
Safety Board, Inspector General of theDepartment of Transportation,
Association of American State Highway Transportation Officials,
Operation Lifesaver, Association of American Railroads, labor,
and Angels on Track.
The Angels on Track Foundation was founded by Dennis and Vicky
Moore after their two sons were involved in a horrific train/car
collision at a non-gated railroad crossing in March, 1995.
The Moore’s youngest son, Ryan, and two of his friends
were killed.
During her five minute oral testimony, Trustee Vicky Moore
will address such issues as the “victim-to-blame” mantra,
motorist sight obstructions, railroad influence, gate installations,
and reasons for the declining accident rate.
